Appreciating the finer points of South Indian vegetarian cuisine calls for a refined taste. We sensed an opportunity for this in the large population of Indians in the Middle East, and entered the market in 2001 through a tie-up with Sangeetha. This popular South Indian vegetarian restaurant chain was established in 1984 in Chennai, India, and is renowned for its delicious dishes and unique taste. Today, it has around 3000 staff and 50 branches in India, UK, Singapore, Malaysia and the Middle East.
Sangeetha has eight branches in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, including the recently opened one in Musafa. The first restaurant in Karama, Dubai is celebrating its 10th anniversary, while more branches are planned in other cities in UAE. The next one is scheduled to open shortly in the Landmark Hotel in Nasser Square. Besides, we have also entered the high end market in Chennai, India with the launch of a fine dining vegetarian restaurant in the posh Chennai Citi Center Mall as well as in the Food Court. We are also continuing our global expansion with more branches being planned in other cities across the Middle East, and US operations expected to commence shortly.
